A PLACE FOR EVERYONE ACCESS TO ALL THE GRANGE

1. Purpose of this Policy

The purpose of this Membership Policy is to set out who is eligible to become a member, the rights and responsibilities of members, how membership is administered, and how membership supports the good governance of the Trust. Membership is free.

2. The Role of Members

Members support democratic oversight by participating in AGMs, voting on trustee appointments and major decisions, and ensuring accountability. Members hold no financial interest and must act in the charity’s best interests.

3. Eligibility for Membership

Membership is open to anyone aged 16 or over who supports the Trust’s charitable aims, completes the membership form, and agrees to this policy and the governing document.

4. Rights of Members

Members may attend and vote at general meetings, receive annual reports and accounts, propose matters for meetings, and resign membership at any time.

5. Responsibilities of Members

Members must act in the best interests of the Trust, respect the roles of trustees and the CEO, engage constructively, and keep contact details updated.

6. Governance Structure

The Trust is governed by up to five volunteer trustees with legal responsibility. The CEO manages daily operations. Members support accountability but do not manage operations.

7. Applying for Membership

Applications may be submitted online or via paper form and must include basic contact information and confirmation of support for the Trust’s objectives.

8. Termination or Suspension

Membership may be terminated for resignation, loss of eligibility, or conduct that breaches this policy or harms the charity.

9. Data Protection

Member information is handled according to UK data protection law and the Trust’s Privacy Policy.

10. Review

This policy is reviewed annually by the trustees.
