Boxing Day, comes from simple English customs.

It was the day after Christmas when churches opened their boxes for giving, and households shared food or a few coins with those who needed it. Later, it became the day working people received their Christmas box once Christmas Day itself was done.

Today it’s still much the same in spirit. After a good walk and red cheeks in the fresh air, the plan is already there and people head out together. Here at The Grange that means coming into the Drawing Room Bar, warming up, having a drink, and catching up with friends and neighbours. Nothing fancy. Just people spending time together.
