Mark Seaman

MARK SEAMAN HAS SPENT MUCH OF HIS WORKING LIFE AROUND BEER, PEOPLE AND LIVE EVENTS, WITH A STRONG BELIEF IN DOING THINGS PROPERLY AND CREATING SPACES PEOPLE ENJOY BEING IN.

He is former Director of Revolutions Brewing Company in Castleford, where he developed a deep understanding of beer, cellar standards and the relationships that sit behind a good festival or a well run bar. Quality, balance and respect for the craft of brewing sit at the centre of how he works.

Mark was the instigator and driving force behind the Castleford Beer Festival, shaping it from the ground up and setting the standards that allowed it to grow. That experience of building something properly, and sustaining it over time, continues to inform his approach.

Earlier in his career, Mark spent several years working in an advisory capacity to the Government of Bahrain. The experience strengthened his approach to planning, responsibility and working within clear frameworks, skills that carry directly into the delivery of public events that need to be safe, organised and welcoming.

Mark now leads the return of the Pontefract Festival of Beer at The Grange for Carleton Grange Trust. After a pause of around four years, the festival will be reborn in 2026, with spring and autumn editions forming part of its future. His role includes shaping the beer selection, working closely with brewers, sponsors and suppliers, and being a steady presence throughout the event.

He is known for a calm, practical, all-round approach, supporting staff and volunteers on the ground and helping things run smoothly without fuss.

Away from work, Mark was a keen cricketer, playing as a bowling all-rounder, and is a lifelong supporter of York City FC, staying closely connected to his home town and its community.

His work at The Grange reflects its wider direction: taking things seriously without taking the joy out of them, and creating events that are well run, welcoming and grounded in shared experience.
