Camila Bouaza
Language and Emotional Support
Camila Bouaza is a trained psychosocial worker and therapeutic counsellor whose work is rooted in attentive listening, emotional safety and human connection.
She brings a calm, relational presence to her facilitation, shaped by professional
experience in community-based support settings and a deep respect for people’s
lived experience.
Originally from Montreal and now based in Yorkshire, Camila has worked
extensively with adults and young people navigating emotional strain, transition
and social disconnection. Her background includes frontline psychosocial work
across several community organisations in Montreal, where she supported
individuals through periods of instability, crisis and change, alongside facilitating
group workshops focused on emotional awareness, self-esteem and regulation.
Camila is a qualified therapeutic counsellor and certified psychosocial practitioner.
Her approach is non-clinical, boundaried and grounded, with an emphasis on
presence rather than problem-solving. Whether working one-to-one or with
groups, she focuses on creating spaces where people feel contained, respected
and able to speak, listen or simply be, without pressure or expectation.
Alongside her wellbeing work, Camila leads Language at The Grange, a series of
contemporary conversational language workshops designed to feel open, social
and achievable. These sessions reflect her belief that language is not simply
something to be learned, but something lived and shared. Drawing on her own
experience of moving between cultures, places and languages, Camila brings
warmth, reassurance and confidence-building to language learning, with a strong
focus on spoken communication and real conversation.
Camila speaks fluent English and French and also speaks Arabic. Her heritage
reflects Algerian Berber and Moroccan French Canadian roots, and her lived
experience of multilingual, multicultural life informs both her language facilitation
and her emotional support work. This cultural sensitivity is embedded within her
practice, shaping how she listens, responds and holds space for others.
At The Grange, Camila’s work forms part of a wider commitment to accessible,
community-based learning and wellbeing, grounded in shared space and everyday
connection. Her sessions are thoughtful and human, offering people the
opportunity to feel heard, supported and steadier, without judgement, pressure or
the need to perform.
